A little bit of rain
Finally on the 21st day of August we have had rain in Mission Beach, the first time this month. I woke up last night to the sound of rain on the roof, and it was good to hear. Of course being in Far North Queensland its not cold, a bit cooler maybe, but not cold. If your heading our way come in to the Mission Beach Information Station and we will help you with your holiday plans.

A good time was had by all
Well it looks like the Mission Beach State School should be very pleased with the Banana Festival. When I arrived yesterday afternoon there were lots of people enjoying the stalls, the climbing wall and jumping castles as well as just lounging around in the sun. The food and drink vendors looked to be doing a roaring trade, and all that means great things for the School. Oh and of course I always love the fireworks too. So well done to all those that put in the hard yards to make it happen!

Congratulations Paul
The other day I really enjoyed watching our local boxing superstar, Paul Flemming compete at the Beijing Olympics. He didn't win but he put up an awesome fight against one of the worlds best. I'm sure everybody from Tully, Mission Beach and everywhere else in North Queensland would be very proud, go Paul!!

Paronella Park
Paronella Park is a 45 minute drive from Mission Beach, and one of my favourite places to take my family and friends when they come to visit. I was there again yesterday and my friend and I really enjoyed the tour before spending some time wandering around the park. We followed it up with a lovely lunch at the Mena Creek pub.....a good day was had by all!

You too can spend a day half day on the Barron River or a full day on the Tully River. Come into the

Its a bright sunny day today
If your lucky enough to be in Mission Beach today, then you know what a bright sunny day it is. I wish I wasn't working so I could go out and enjoy it. A walk on the beach looking out at Dunk Island would be a great way to spend the afternoon I think.

Eating out!
There are so many restaurant, cafe and bar options in Mission Beach that sometimes its hard to choose where to eat. Last night I dined at Jetty's Cafe & Bar with friends, and all three of us enjoyed our meals. It is great to be spoilt for choice I think, so if your a visitor or a local to Mission Beach and don't want to cook then you don't have too!

Whale Watching
My friend had a lovely afternoon yesterday sitting down at the beach in Mission Beach watching a mother whale and her calf playing in the water between the mainland and Dunk Island. He said it was absolutely awesome. I wish now I hadn't been at work and could have been enjoying one of natures best with him.
