Wine & Cheese Tasting Evening

Its Origin Game night again tonight. To catch it on the Big Screen with a cold one at Mission Beach head on down to Scotty's Bar & Grill. Also the South Mission Beach Outriggers is putting on a sausage sizzle from around 6pm

Long Weekend

It's been a fantastic long weekend in Mission Beach, the weather has been perfect even though it was forecast for rain! I hope everyone has had a good one, and safe travelling to those going home!

Beachfront Holiday Units located at South Mission Beach. Anchor In looks out over Dunk Island. There are four 2 bedroom fully self-contained units. Each unit has a double bed and 3 single beds.

JuJu Moon at Scotty's Bar & Grill

JuJu Moon and the Big Band is on this Sunday 13th at Scotty's Bar & Grill Mission Beach. Playing in the Front Bar from 6.30pm....Remember its a long weekend so some of us can sleep in on Monday morning!!!

Johnstone River Crocodile Farm

Less than an hour drive from Mission Beach is the Johnstone River Crocodile Farm. I went there on Saturday morning for the 11am guided tour where the staff feed the crocodiles while telling us about them and the farm. They do this tour twice a day, again at 3pm in the afternoon. You can go anytime during the day but I find that its worth going on the tour. If your keen you can hold a snake and a crocodile, and you also get to feed the kangaroos that roam around the farm. My friend was very excited about holding the snake but I didn't find the need myself.

MIssion Evovle Music Fest

The Mission Evolve Music Fest is on again this year at Mission Beach . Yipeeee!! The venue is Dundee Park just a short drive from Mission. The date is 15th-17th October. Don't be square....be there!! Dunk Island

Had a fantastic day on Dunk Island yesterday. Went over on the Water Taxi which was a lovely way to travel. Did the walk to Muggy Muggy, and then almost got to the top of Mt Kootaloo before deciding it was time for lunch and a beer. Enjoyed them in the Planation Bar in the Resort before lounging around the cascade pool before it was time to head back to the mainland. Can't wait to go again! Castaways Resort

I popped into Castaways Resort at Mission Beach this morning for a coffee and a look at the renovations. WOW!!!...its totally gorgeous. The decor, the ambiance, the menu...all to die for. Mission Beach locals are particularly well looked after with discounts on top of the already more than reasonable prices. You have to go and have a look .......its so worth it!!

Tropical Fruit Tasting

If you are passing through beautiful Mission Beach try and get down to see the lovely people at the Mission Beach Visitors Centre to try the fruit tasting on Mondays and Tuesdays for a small fee of $4.00 per person between 1 and 2pm. Its fabulous!!

Ash Grunwald

Less than a 15 minute drive from Mission Beach. Ash Grunwald - Hot Mama Vibes National Tour. Friday 4th June, from 7pm at the El Arish RSL Hall. Green Island

I had a fantastic day on Green Island this week. Less than an hour ferry ride from Cairns and your there. They are really well set up for day guests as well as having accommodation if you would like to stay on the Island. You can snorkel, parasail, take a helicopter ride or check out the marine life from the glass bottom boat, or just hang out on the beach. They have shops, restaurants and a bar in an area surrounding the pool. If your feeling more active then I was you can take a walk around the Island. Mission Beach Outrigger Canoe Club

Mission Beach Outrigger Canoe Club Fundraiser at Mission Beach Surf Lifesavers Club in South Mission Beach on Wednesday 26th May for State Of Origin Night. Come along & join in the fun from 6pm. Sausage sizzle, raffles, competitions & drinks for sale. We have an original Cowboys jersey signed by the players to be raffled. Hope to see you there!

Millers Beach Bar & Grill have a great night planned for the first State Of Origin on Wednesday 26th May. They are offering free pizza from 7.45pm until the first try is scored. So if your in Mission Beach and keen, go and watch the game from their 3 screens!
