Bingil Bay Beach
Bingil Bay is the most northern village in Mission Beach. The beach in Bingil Bay is normally really busy on a Sunday afternoon but yesterday we had the pleasure of having it almost to ourselves. After walking the dogs the full length we sat down to enjoy a drink and a chat. Life doesn't get much better than that!

Weekend in Townsville
Townsville is less than a 3 hour drive from Mission Beach, and that is where I spent a lovely weekend with friends from Mackay and Melbourne. We stayed at the A&A Holiday Apartments one street back from The Stand. It was the perfect spot, we parked our cars and walked everywhere. We had a great 2 bedroom apartment that was fully self contained, and we were lucky enough to have the pool next door and no-one else wanted to use it so it was like having our own private swimming area. If your looking for somewhere to stay then this is a terrific spot.

Rose Gums Wilderness Retreat
It's less than 2 hour drive from Mission Beach to the Rose Gums Wilderness Retreat up in the Atherton Tablelands, and well worth the drive. I had a lovely stay there with a friend on Monday night, I only wish we could have stayed for longer. We were in a 2 bedroom self contained treehouse, with views of the forest and mountains. There is a restaurant on the property or you can look after yourselves and a yummy breakfast hamper is provided for your first morning. You know there are neighbours out there, as they have 9 treehouses in total, but you don't hear or see them. Really I could have stayed there for a week......if only I had the time!
