TOWNSVILLE: We are a locally owned and operated tour business based in Townsville, Tropical North Queensland. I am a born and bred local with over twenty years experience in the hospitality industry and I have a passion for the bush and our back yard.
In establishing our business, I had a mission to introduce visitors from around the world to the amazing diversity of our Life in the Tropics, from World Heritage Listed Wet Tropics Rainforest, to tropical coastal living, to the Outback.

Mamu Canopy Walkway

Less than an hours drive from Mission Beach will find you at the fabulous Mamu Canopy Walkway. My brother was visiting last week from Victoria so we went for a drive to see it and I'm glad we did. The rainforest experience is fantastic but added to that the engineering feat to get the walkway in place is really amazing. Well worth a visit....don't forget your camera like I did!

Rain.....

Its raining again in the north. Mission Beach was deluged yesterday with the first good rain of the season. Its why I love living in Mission Beach. The rain, the frogs, the thunderstorms. Ahhh.....just love the tropics!!

Mulgrave River Kayaking

Anyone visiting Mission Beach has a smorgasboard of fresh water rivers and creeks visit. I spent yesterday on the Mulgrave River in the Goldsborough Valley. Its only 30 minutes south of Cairns and 90 minutes north of Mission Beach. Its a truly magic spot. Don't forget to take the esky and BBQ though. Plenty of tables and chairs BBQ's and amenities.

If you are heading south from Mission Beach drop in at the Whitsunday Reef Festival at the Whitsunday sailing Club on 14 November. Sure to be a fantastic night with guest band 'Evermore'. Tickets $45 or $49 at the door

Mission Beach hosted the annual "OnaMission Multisport Adventure Race" this weekend. I'm sure there will be a lot of sore bodies in Mission Beach tomorrow!!

Stinger Season

There is an array of jellyfish (also called 'marine stingers') in Queensland's tropical waters. Stingers are of particular concern in waters between November to May/ June. In Tropical North Queensland we call this period 'stinger season'. It is once again coming up to "stinger season" here in Mission Beach so if your thinking about going swimming be sure to wear a stinger suit or swim in designated stinger nets.

It was so nice to sit at home and relax this weekend. My partner and I decided to have a pizza night and headed down to one of our local restaurants in Mission Beach, Piccolo Paradiso. 3 Medium Pizza's were way to much! As much as a weekend at home was lovely, my fingers are crossed for sunshine and 5 knot winds for the coming weekend. I love living here in Mission Beach, I have the Great Barrier Reef as my front yard!
