Its the annual Mission Beach Banana Festival this coming Saturday 22nd August. Starting from 1pm and going through till late. Its one of the best afternoon/nights to be had in Mission Beach with entertainment for the children in the afternoon and plenty of entertainment for the grown ups till late into the night with a live band. Mission Beach Information Station

Mission Beach is a haven for backpackers. In Mission Beach backpackers have a chance to chill out between the rowdy nightlife of Cairns and Airlie Beach or can still choose to go hard with world famous white water rafting on the Tully River, skydiving onto the beach, snorkelling or diving the Great Barrier Reef, taking the water taxi to Dunk Island to do a spot of hiking, or heading out for some more nightlife at the local bars and restaurants. The Mission Beach Information Station is the first place backpackers should stop on arriving in Mission Beach. You can see us from the bus stop so stroll across for a free map, loads of information on the local area and real fast internet.

Dunk Island

Dunk Island is perhaps Australia's most famous and beautiful rainforest Island. Dunk Island is located off shore from Mission Beach. Known to its first inhabitants as 'Coonanglegah', meaning island of peace and plenty, Dunk Island has much to offer. Being prodominantly a National Park, Dunk Island has an abundance of rainforest walking tracks and secluded beaches.

Brand new cafe opened in the Woolworths complex. Clean and fresh with good food and great coffee. Pies, cakes, sandwiches and ice-creams to name a few of the lovely options. Open Monday to Saturday 8am to 5.00pm.

Mission Beach has a new market, and its a Sunset one. Visit the Village Green Sunset Market Friday 7th August from 5.00pm. Local arts & crafts with free entertainment from 6.00pm. A raffle with great prizes will be drawn at 7.00pm. So if your in town I think you should definitely go and check it out!

It has been a crazy morning here at the Mission Beach Information Station. I have been booking bus tickets, car rentals, accommodation and tours. We have a good supply of food and drinks which are selling well this morning as well as people coming in to use the Internet. Sunrise in Mission Beach

Mission Beach had the pleasure of hosting the Sunrise Weather crew with Fifi Box on Tuesday. Its great to get some national coverage from such a popular morning program. Fifi and the crew left Mission Beach and headed to Tully yesterday and Paronella Park today. Thank you to the crew and we hope you enjoyed your time in our beautiful area!!
